Elif wins German Packaging Award 2021
Istanbul – TURKEY – 2021/07/28 - Elif has been named as one of the winners of the German Packaging Awards 2021. Its sustainable packaging solution ElifProLite - A Recyclable High Barrier Laminate will be awarded in the “New Material” category during the award ceremony which will take place on 28 September as part the trade show FachPack in Nuremberg, Germany.
Hakan Salargil, Elif’s Executive Chairman, stated: “We are very pleased that ElifProLite from our Elif Sustainable Eco Solutions range is awarded as one of the winners of this major European showcase for packaging. This is an excellent example of our sustainable and tailor-made solutions.“
The jury of the German Packaging Awards evaluated:
„Even packaging with extremely high barrier requirements needs to be 100% recyclable by 2025. This is a major challenge. The Elif company is meeting this challenge head-on for the demanding high-barrier films segment. ElifProLite, a PP mono-material structure for high-speed packaging applications, has been developed, successfully ensuring a long minimum shelf life and high aroma protection with its high barrier. The high-water vapour barrier of 0.5 g/m²/24h, oxygen barrier of 0.1 cc/m²/24h and light barrier is achieved with metallisation and without further barriers such as EVOH or PVDC. The packaging is confirmed in independent tests to have good recyclability. “
ElifProlite is Elif’s one of the latest sustainable innovations that belong to the Elif Sustainable Eco Solutions range. ElifProLite is a fully recyclable PP mono-material structure for high-speed packaging applications, has been developed, successfully ensuring longer shelf life and high aroma protection with its high barrier. It received a “Made for Recycling” certificate from Interseroh, an independent German recycling and consulting company.
A total of 52 outstanding innovations from six countries receive the German Packaging Award this year. The German Packaging Institute, responsible for the organisation of this award, has received around 25% more submissions than the previous year.
“This significant award is a great recognition for Elif and proves again that our offerings are part of the solution to future challenges. FachPack will be a strong stage for us in order to show how our smart business fosters sustainability and that we are a trusted partner worldwide and a global benchmark company for flexible packaging,” concluded Hakan Salargil.
